How to add a subscribe animation in Premiere Pro
Most people use the MP4: put it over your video and key out the green with Ultra Key. For the cleanest soft edges (shadows, glows), PNG frames come already see-through.
The MP4 with Ultra Key
- Download the MP4, import it and drag it onto V2, above your video.
- In the Effects panel, search for Ultra Key (it’s under Keying) and drag it onto the clip.
- In Effect Controls, take the Key Color eyedropper and click the green in the Program Monitor.
- If a thin green edge is left, open Matte Cleanup and raise Choke a little, until the edge has gone.
- A 4K file in a 1080p sequence: right-click it, then Set to Frame Size.
If you like: PNG frames, for the cleanest edges
- Download PNG frames and unzip them: one see-through picture per frame. The README in the folder says the frame rate.
- In Premiere, choose File, then Import. Open the folder, select the first PNG, tick Image Sequence, and import.
- If it plays too fast or too slow, right-click it in the Project panel, then Modify, then Interpret Footage, and set “Assume this frame rate” to the README’s (30 or 60).
- Drag it onto V2, above your video. Nothing to key.
